You have already probably heard of zucchini chips but can you make them in an air fryer, and how will they turn out?
I have done the work for you to find out, however, I did not use any breadcrumbs or cheese for this recipe.
Instead, I seasoned them with smoked paprika and ground cumin to make each bite spicy and tasty.
The air fryer is a great way to cook these chips quickly and is ideal for preparing a batch for you to take to work for an alternative snack.
How to make zucchini chips
It is a simple recipe, whether you are going to bake them in the oven or place them in the air fryer, but all you really need to do is slice your zucchini into smaller pieces.
The key part is to apply olive oil, or your preferred cooking oil, even if you are using an air fryer because that is what will make them crispy, however, do not use too much.
I seasoned them with smoked paprika and ground cumin, and just a pinch of salt and black pepper.
how long to cook in the air fryer?
I first set the air fryer to 10 minutes but I feel they came out better after 15 minutes because you ideally want them crispier.
By using breadcrumbs or parmesan will almost certainly give these an extra crunch and flavor but for this recipe, I wanted to test them out by just using the zucchini.

Zucchini chips are indeed keto-friendly and are generally a great low-carb alternative to regular potato chips.

- 1 Large Zucchini
- 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
- 1/2 tsp Ground Cumin
- 1/2 tsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil (optional)
- Pinch of Salt and Black Pepper
- Thinly slice the zucchini, ideally to 1/4 inch thick, and place in a mixing bowl. Add the seasonings and stir to combine.
- Place in the air fryer compartment and set the temperature to 200 C / 392 F, and cook for 15 minutes, or until crispy.
- For extra flavour, add parmesan cheese
- Store in airtight container to prevent them going soggy
