- Ground Turkey: I used turkey thigh mince for this recipe, which is typically 7% fat and is higher in fat compared to turkey breast mince, which is typically 2% fat. However, there’s a big difference is taste and I still find turkey thigh mince macro-friendly and a far superior choice over breast mince.
- Tomato Passata: You could use chopped tomatoes, but tomato passata is a better choice for this type of bolognese.
- Herbs and spices: This recipe definitely needs spice to give it a kick. You can use paprika or red chili, or you can use cayenne pepper if you want to make it hotter. This recipe calls for ground coriander, which is optional but helps with flavor. I also used dried oregano and fresh parsley.
- Carrot and celery: Traditional ingredients for bolognese.
- Chicken stock: This is optional, but I used chicken stock instead of beef stock.
